My hands are definitely full...
Almost daily I get told, "boy you have your hands full," as if I didn't already know...I've started saying yes my hands are full, but full of good things. Having three kids in 4 years makes for a very busy Mommy (and Daddy)! I am learning to juggle them but some things are taking a lot more patience than I realized. It takes me atleast 20 minutes from the time I decide to leave the house to actually get out the door. Once we are out the door the carseats take atleast another 3-5 minutes. It took us awhile to figure out exactly how we wanted to arrange the three of them but I think we have a good system now. Athen and Maximo are in the back and Tytan is in the passenger side captain chair. It seems to be working. Athen can buckle himself in but cannot "buckle himself out" (his words). Maximo needs help being buckled in and out.
Another thing I totally underestimated was the amount of laundry for a family of five. I do atleast one load of laundry a day and sometimes 2-3. I remember when Matt and I got married we did two maybe three loads of laundry a week! Although it is more work, I cannot imagine life any other way! I love these boys so much... They are all so sweet and so very different. As they grow I love seeing their little personalities.
Athen is so smart, so sweet, and has such a tender heart. Today we were riding in the car and we were looking for numbers and letters and Athen said, "Look Mom there is a 45, thats just like the number at grandmas." I couldnt figure out what he was talking about until I realized this was Matt's football number at the Academy and they have a picture of him in his jersey hanging on the wall. I couldnt believe he made the correlation.
Little Maxi is getting so big. Around his birthday we started potty training and he is completely day trained and almost night trained. About once a week he wakes up with a wet pullup but for the most part he is dry. However, we still have two milestones to tackle: getting rid of his paci and moving him to a toddler bed. Both of these I am selfishly hanging onto... It's so much easier to have him in a crib so he cannot get up in the middle of the night. The paci is also to keep him quieter at night. Sleep is VERY important to me. He hasn't had his paci outside of his crib since he was one, so it's only a comfort for him (and us) to sleep. So I'm hoping before Matt deploys we can atleast get rid of the paci...then we can move onto the toddler bed :).
Tytan is growing and growing and growing. This week we tried some rice cereal for him and he wasn't to into it. He is very intrested in what I am eating and I give him little bites of my food. He is so big and my back hurts all the time from carrying him. He is 19-plus pounds and is pretty much dead weight. He is the sweetest little guy ever, and has a smile for anyone that will talk to him. At home he is very vocal. I think he is just trying to keep up with the other two.
Although I didn't plan on three wee ones, and three wee ones so close in age, God sure knew what he was doing because these boys have blessed me more than I could have ever imagined! I am so looking forward to Christmas and waking up to three little guys and seeing the excitement on their faces!
