Mangum Rattlesnake Roundup

This weekend was the annual Rattlesnake Roundup in Mangum, OK. Mangum is about 30 minutes from Altus and is much smaller than Altus. The Rattlesnake festival is definitely a must-see in these parts. We were able to see several rattlesnakes and could even have our picture taken with one, although we chose not to. Here is a picture of Athen with a glass wall separating him from about 40 rattlesnakes.


Athen enjoyed riding all of the carnival type rides. We met up with some friends and the two boys rode all of the rides together.



Maximo was too short to ride anything and the poor little guy could not understand why he couldn't be with his big brother. It broke my heart because he would stand at the fence and just cry.


We did let him sit on the ride when it wasn't in motion, and he was pretty happy about that.


It was fun to spend time together as a family and enjoy carnival food!
