Field Trip

Today Athen's class went on a field trip to the local fire station and I joined as a "chaperone." I'm not sure how much of a chaperone I was with a 9 week old and an almost 2 year old but nonetheless I joined his class. The firemen were so great with all the kids and showed them everything. The kids got to see all the firemen's gear, get on the fire truck and even spray one of the hoses. It was so hot out I seriously wanted to jump into the water from the hose. Other than the heat it was a great morning! Here are some of the pictures of the fire station tour.

Birthday Chain...

I am pretty sure every morning, every afternoon and every evening Athen would ask me if it was October yet... He is so excited for his birthday! So the other day I was browsing on the website pinterest.com (beware it is so addicting) and I came across the idea for a birthday chain for young children. So of course that afternoon Athen and I made a birthday chain for both him and Maximo. So every morning when they wake up they get to take a link off of their birthday chain. They both love it and it is a visual reference for them to know how many more days until their birthdays! Here is the best picture I could get of the both of them with their chains.

Today we got a package delivered and the box was so big. Athen has such a great imagination and he first wanted to make into a refrigerator. So we put a handle on it and found another small box to make a microwave on top. I got interrupted because Ty woke up and Athen made me breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner while I was nursing Ty. After we played "kitchen" for some time we then made the box into a "car". We drew a circle for a steering wheel, made headlights, pedals and even an ignition. He got a spare set of keys and he drove everywhere...to Ohio, California, Colorado, back to Oklahoma and came back home to Florida. Then Maximo woke up and the box was the cause of some serious fights and some great lessons in taking turns.

Here is a sweet picture of Athen and Tytan. He totally adores him and I love their sweet connection.

And lastly, this is the best picture I could get of the three amigos!

I am still trying to figure out what they are going to be for Halloween and Athen won't go for any of my ideas. I wanted Athen to be Cat in the Hat and Maximo and Tytan to be Thing 1 and Thing 2. No such luck :( He now wants to be a race car driver. So we will see if this lasts. Anyway, I would love some suggestions.

Tytan's stats...

Tytan had his 2 month checkup today and they confirmed he is a big boy. He weighed 14lbs10oz, putting him in the 91st percentile. He was 24 1/2 inches long, putting him in the 87th percentile. I cant remember his head circumference but he was only in the 15th percentile. The doctor also told me his two bottom teeth are so close to popping through. He also got his two month vaccines and only cried a bit. Maximo got his flu shot at the same time and he only flinched. I have two tough little guys... Athen was at school so he was the only one in the whole family that didnt get a shot today. His turn is coming but I am sure he will be tough too!!!

Tytan is 2 months!

I can't believe Tytan is already two months old. It seems like yesterday I was in the hospital and now he's already two months and cutting two teeth. I can't even believe I am typing that, but he is. His two bottom are about to pop through. He has been a miserable little guy, I just feel so bad for him. He had been sleeping 7 to 8 hours in a row at night but the past two nights he has been up a lot more.
Everyday I get to see more and more of his sweet personality. He always has a smile for me and most of the time will smile for Athen. He is a little scared of Maximo, but I think it's only because Maximo has two volumes, silent and loud. Both of the boys cant keep their hands off of him though. It really is so sweet until they wake him up from a nap... Below are some pictures of him and his sweet smiles. We have his 2 month checkup tomorrow. I can't wait to see how big he is :)

Catching up

I haven't posted in a while but I finally downloaded some pictures off of my camera. When one of the hurricanes came through town we decided to go down to the beach and check out the waves. Here are a few pictures of us down by the beach. It was super windy and the water came so close to the walkway to the beach. It was really cool and the boys loved it!

I finallly captured a smile from my sweet baby! Isn't he so handsome?

The boys got some super cute shirts in the mail from a friend of ours. Here is the best picture I could get of the three of them. Athen loved his shirt so much he had to wear it to preschool the next day!

I just love this picture of Matt. When he gets home from work the boys just run for him. I think Matt is their favorite person in the world. I still hold the number one spot for Ty but that's only because he needs me to eat :)

I need to get some pictures of me with the boys! It seems like I am always behind the camera!

4 weeks old :)

It has been so long since I posted! I can't believe little Tytan is 4 weeks old today, where does time go? I have to say he is a fussy little guy but I love him to pieces. He is so sweet and has blessed our whole family! He is one popular little guy. He had so many visitors in his first few weeks of life. Nana came to visit, then Pappy joined her a few weeks later. After Nana left it was just the 5 of us for a day then Grandma and Grandpa came. We had a wonderful visit with them. ANd then Aunt Brooke and Breigh came to visit. It was so wonderful having so many extra hands around to help with the boys. I think everyone misses all of our visitors :)

The boys are adjusting well to Tytan. Athen can't get enough of him. He loves him so much and always wants to hold him, "pet" him, kiss him, and help me do everything with him. We are learning a lot about personal space. He gets a little too close to Ty and is always in his face. We have had to establish a few rules, he can never touch him when he is sleeping and when he is eating. This is so very hard for Athen, because he just can't keep his hand off of him. I am very thankful though that he loves him so much. All the attention Ty needs has made Athen act out in other ways though. He takes out a lot of his frustration on Maximo. I would say poor guy but Maximo is a retaliator (and instigaor) and although he doesn't hurt Athen yet he will soon enough. Maximo also loves Ty so much!!! Today I let Ty have "tummy time" on Maximo's belly and he couldn't get enough of it. I didn't get a picture of it because I couldn't get up to get the camera for fear of what could happen :) We are working on using our "inside voice" with Maximo. The little guy has two volumes silent or loud. He doesn't know how to "talk" in a normal voice. I say "talk" because we are still working with him to get him to say more. He still loves to sign but has very few words.
We are so thankful for our sweet little Ty and I am so thankful the boys have adjusted so well to him. I can't beleive I survived my first week home alone with them. I so look forward to 5 o'clock when Matt comes home from work and there are some extra hands around :). I have to say we are getting into a rhythm. Athen's school days are hard for us to get out the door but I haven't been late yet :) I love school days because it gives me time in the morning to spend with Maximo. Ty usually sleeps so Maximo and I can read and play. Once we pick Athen up from school Maximo takes a nap and then I get time with Athen to play. Although one day this week the stars aligned and Athen took a nap in the afternoon. It was a sweet success to have all 3 boys napping and I of course joined them.
Here are a few pictures of all 3 of them!
A sweet moment of them sleeping :)
